The Limited Centennial Editiion was strictly limited to 2000 numbered copies of which this is COPY NO. 1694.

The first volume of this legendary production is devoted to the first Edgar Rice Burroughs illustrator: J. Allen St. John. Every illustration in the book is full-page or foldout and made from the original drawing or painting: the best reproduction of these artworks ever. There are 25 full-page color plates, four foldout color plates, and 95 full-page b&w illustrations. Plus two full-page photographs of St John. In addition to the St John artwork are Edgar Rice Burroughs paintings by N.C. Wyeth and Frank Schoonover. Written & edited by Edgar Rice Burroughs & J. Allen St. John scholar Darrell C. Richardson.
